BJP to lead alliance in Tamil Nadu in 2016

Chennai, Dec 21 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will make a serious bid to take power in Tamil Nadu by leading an alliance in the 2016 assembly elections, its president Amit Shah said Sunday.

The announcement was made on a day former DMK leader and former central minister D. Napolean joined the BJP.

Shah said the BJP would mobilise 60 lakh new members in Tamil Nadu and it would be the largest party in the state in 2016.

He also told reporters that the party would lead an alliance during the next assembly elections and also declare its chief ministerial candidate.

According to him, the economy had improved after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) came to power.

Napolean, a minister in the Congress-led UPA government who quit the DMK Saturday, joined the BJP at the party headquarters here in Shah's presence.

On Saturday, music director Gangai Amaran joined the BJP.

    Even this time will pass.... Mr Modi and Mr. Shah put in thier best to route out congress. Same thing happened when Vajpayee/NDA I was in power in 1999 but in 2004 a total U turn.

    Now people of this country has given a chance to Mr. Modi who was chanting the development mantra during the election. and now if he continues to take a U turn like this then in 2019 election the history will repeat.

    Now only two States left out in Southern Indian. I.e. Kerala…which will take some time because its’ very difficult to change their communist mindset as well as few fundamentalists and but in Karnataka….next election will prove very costly for CONGiss so they are gone forever in Karnataka too

    For the BJP, getting foothold in WB, Kerala & TN is very critical. However, all said & done, they look to be a major force to reckon with in the next assembly elections to these states.

    WB is really a revealation! There was opposition space which the Left had provided due to their incapacity to take on TMC & the BJP grabbed this with both hands. From 5% votes in 2012 assembly to 16% in May polls, BJP is on a high!

    In Kerala & TN, both states from sidelines of 5% vote shares for last 15-20 years, BJP crossed 10% & its a matter of time before they strike rich with a haul of 20-30 seats in identified strongholds in both states...Amit Shah is really a mastermind & great planner & wish his plans in these three states succeed!!!

    The post independence history (till date) reveal that, so far tamil nadu state hold its reputation as free from communal tensions. I wish & believe that it will continue its reputation going forward also unlike Karnataka.
    One more observation is that (without prejudice), irrespective of cast bias, the high IQ people states like AP, WB, TN, Kerala were not hitherto ruled by BJP.

    Crime rates because the main trouble makers are the people who run the govt.
