Ghaziabad, De Dec 21 (IANS): Two unidentified criminals fled with a primary education officer's car. The incident occurred late Saturday near the passport office here.
The driver said that at about 10 p.m., after dropping the officer at his residence in he reached a roadside eatery. After finishing his meal, when he went towards the car, two men overpowered him and snatched the key of the jeep.
The driver lost control and slipped into a ditched, and the criminals fled with the government vehicle.
"The driver was drunk so he had altercations with the other customers. It seems the incident happened under provocation and was not a planned one. An investigation is being conducted. The jeep has not been recovered as of now," said station officer Avneesh Gautam of Kavi Nagar police station.
