Mangalore, Dec 4: B Vanishree Rao, a pro at mathematics, has secured the second runner up place at the 13th International UCMAS Abacus and Mental competition that recently took place at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.

A 5th standard student of city's Sharada Vidyalaya, Vanishree was one of the 120 students from India who took part in the event. There were 3,000 participants from all over the world. They were asked to solve about 150-200 mathematical problems in five minutes.

Vanishree was trained in mental arithmetic at UCMAS Abacus centre here.
