The protest against the setting up of Nagarjuna Power Company’s thermal power project in Padubidri is expected to intensify. The indication was given by fishermen leader Pramod Madhwaraj, who has convened a meeting of all elected representatives of both DK and Udupi districts on December 9 at the Uchila Mahalakshmi temple auditorium.

The meeting has also invited religious and political leaders. The meeting will take into consideration the views on how to intesnsify the protest. The meeting will also take a decision to boycott the leaders in their future elections and dissociate with them if they do not turn up for the meeting.

A special set of office-bearers of the protest committee has been formed to ensure that all the important leaders and elected representatives are invited personally to the meeting.
