Mangalore, Dec 2: Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Attavar is organising a five-day special camp for the benefit of disabled people from Monday as part of World Disabled Day, which is observed on December 3 every year.

The aim of observing the day is to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

According to a press release from Sunil Deshpande, medical superintendent of KMC Hospital, Attavar, the day also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. The theme of the day is based on persons with disabilities enjoying equal human rights.

Dr. Deshpande said orthopaedic doctors, physiotherapists of the hospital will extend free consultation and counselling. Those interested may contact Prashant Desai on 98458 76192, Dr. Deshpande said.
