Mangalore Dec 1: Vijaya College, Mulki is organizing a national-level seminar on “Women Empowerment- Issues, Problems and Concerns” on December 8 and 9.

Principal of the college Prof S Aravind Joshi while addressing a press conference here on Friday December 1 said that the two-day program will consist of paper presentations, seminars on the topic and cultural programmes.

Adding to this he also told that there will be an exhibition of the home made products prepared by women.

The inauguration of the programme will be on December 8.  K K Pai, registrar of Academy of General Education, Manipal will be presiding over the function. Executive director Corporation bank, K L Gopalkrishna will inaugurate the function while vice-chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore Dr Sudha Rao will deliver the keynote address.

Prof K Kodandaramaiah, director, department of Collegiate Education Bangalore, Canara Bank DGM T D Pai and M L Abhaya Chandra Jain will be the guests of honour.

Coordinators of the programme Dr Narayan Shetty, Lecturer in English Prof Hayavadana Upadya, Lecturer in Kannada Shailaja Yethadkar were also present in the press meet.
