Mangalore, Nov 30: 'Tulu Mahaniyarottugu Onji Samvada,' was organised by the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy here on Wednesday November 29.
Speaking on the occasion, writer Chittaranjandas Shetty expressed concern over handing over of lands for the sake of development and said that such a move will affect Tulu culture too. Tulu being an agrarian culture, the loss of lands will result in loss of culture attached with the lands, he said.
He attacked the proposed Nagarjuna Power Plant and alleged that it was trying to grab lands in the name of development. He called upon people to join the protest against the power plant.
Shetty and pad-dhana singer Kargi Nalike were felicitated on the occasion by Academy president M K Seetaram Kulal.
