Kundapur, Nov 30: The town police inspector Raghav D Padil was arrested by lokayukta inspector Prasannaraju on charges of accepting bribe on Wednesday November 29 night.

One Ashif of Haklady had lodged a complaint with the lokayukta inspector that Raghav D Padil had demanded Rs 2,000 from him when he had gone to him to seek permission to start a lottery shop at Basrur.  The complainant had submitted a video filed to substantiate his allegations.

Based on this inspector Prasannaraju arrested Raghav D Padil under the guidance of lokayukta SP Chandrashekhar.  The police have also recovered the bribe amount of Rs 2,000 from him.  A case under Anti-Corruption Act has been registered against Raghav D Padil.

Meanwhile in a curious development, complainant Ashif has given a fresh statement that he had lodged complaint owing to pressure another person.  It is still curious to know that he has said that it was a conspiracy hatched to trap inspector Raghav D Padil.

On the other hand locals with the support of advocates have stood in support of Raghav D Padil.  They staged protest against the charges filed against the latter and said that he has been trapped by matka agents.  Local Hindu organizations and all-party leaders have called for Kundapur bundh in protest on November 30.
