Mangalore, Nov 29: The annual feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz at Mudipu Shrine here will be held from Tuesday December 5 to Thursday December 7.

The nine-day novena prayers which are held as preparation for the feast began on Sunday November 26. Novenas are held at 4.30 in the evening. 

Procession of festal offerings will be held on Sunday December 3 evening.  The procession will begin at Mudipu Church at 3.30 pm and will end at the Shrine.  A solemn mass will be held at the Shrine at 4.30 pm.

The festal celebrations will begin on Tuesday December 5.  The vespers and the festal mass will begin at 5.30 pm.  Vicar general Msgr Fred V Pereira will be the main celebrant on the occasion while Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore will be the main celebrant for the grand solemn Eucharistic celebration at 10.30 am on Wednesday December 6.  On the last day, that is, on Thursday December 7, festal mass will be held at 10.30 am and the mass will be offered by Fr Dominic Vas, provincial of Goa-Karntaka Province of Carmelite congregation.
