Bantwal, Nov 29: A resident of Netla village here was killed after the two-wheeler he was riding rolled down into a gorge at Goltamajalu near here on Tuesday November 28 night.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok (36), son of Chennayya Moolya of Netla.  He was on his way back home along with his wife Damayanti riding his M 80 scooter when the mishap occurred.  The scooter fell into a gorge after Ashok lost control over it while still in running.

As a result he sustained serious injuries.  Though he was rushed to hospital immediately, he breathed his last on the way.  However, his wife who was riding the pillion had a miraculous escape with minor bruises.

Damayanti owned a fancy shop at Kalladka and on Tuesday night she was on her way back home after closing down the shop.

The Bantwal police have registered a case in this regard.
