Mangalore, Nov 20: Noted orthopaedician Dr Shantaram Shetty and MD324 Council Chairperson Lion Kripa Amar Alva are among the 25 achievers who have been selected for the prestigious Sumasourabha Awards – 06. The awards are given by Sumasourabha Kannada fortnightly. The awards were announced by M J Rao, editor, of the magazine at a press conference held here on Monday November 20 morning.

The awards will be presented at a gala function to be held on Tuesday November 28 evening in the Town Hall here.
The award distribution programme will be presided over by Harikrishna Punarooru, former president Kannada Sahitya Parishat while inaugural speech will be delivered by vedamurthy Lakshmi Narayana Asranna, temple priest at Kateel. State home minister M P Prakash will be the guest of honour and Justice Venkatachala, former Lokayukta will present the awards. Noted journalist Manohar Prasad of Udayavani, S Ganesh Rao, founder president, Karavali Group of Colleges and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, will also present on the occasion.
