Man trampled to death by elephants in Bengal


Kolkata, Nov 26 (IANS): A middle-aged man was trampled to death by a herd of elephants Wednesday in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, a forest official said.

The incident happened in Purba Duramari village in the district when the man suddenly came across a herd of elephants.

"He was trampled to death by elephants when he came across a herd that entered Purba Duramari village in search of food," divisional forest officer (Jalpaiguri) Sumita Ghatak said.
