Washington, Nov 16:
Bobby Jindal, an Indian-American, intends to run for the governorship of his home state Louisiana.

''I have taken the first step towards another run for governorship, reactivating the Friends of Bobby Jindal gubernatorial account. I want to run for governor and will be working hard to see if I can build the support necessary to run a strong, successful campaign,'' he said in a statement.

In the Congressional election earlier this month, he retained his seat on a Republican ticket polling 88 per cent of the votes.

He ran for the office of Governor in 2003 but lost and later got elected to the US House of Representatives.
