Kundapur, Nov 15: Sources from Thekkatte panchayat said that 3 persons have been affected by rat fever in the last few days which has caused much panic among public in the area.

The gram panchayat sources claimed that they have already taken adequate precautionary methods towards stopping the spread of rat fever.  The issue caused much panic after a local TV channel reported that one person had died owing to rat fever recently.  But the panchayat men clarified that the deceased case was not from Thekkatte but Kota panchayat.

But it is true that 3 persons who had been affected by rat fever have been provided with proper medicine and they are now recovering from sudden bout of fever.  The GP has already announced in the area through mikes and loud speakers to take proper measures.  The panchayat has also distributed handbills containing information about rat fever.  The PHC has been kept ready with enough medicine and vaccines to meet any adverse situation.
