Mangalore, Nov 15: Vishwas Saralaya of MGM, Udupi has won the State Level Pre University Chess Championship organised Government Girls Junior College, Basavanagudi, Bangalore held on Nov 11.

He gathered unbeaten 6.5 points in 7 rounds to claim the title. Koushik R of Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangalore scored 5.5 points and was placed fifth to make it the Karnataka Team.

Soumyashree C Ail of Canara P U College, Mangalore scored 5 points in 6 rounds and stood runner up in Girls section.

Vishwas, Koushik and Soumyashree are among the players selected to represent Karnataka in National level Championship to be held at Tirupati.
