Abducted Tripura girl rescued in Bihar


Agartala, Nov 22 (IANS): Bihar Police have rescued a 16-year-old girl kidnapped from Tripura and arrested her abductor, police said here Saturday.

"A married young man kidnapped the girl Sep 4 and took her to Bihar," an officer said.

Acting on a tip off from Tripura Police, Bihar Police Friday rescued the girl and arrested her abductor Premananda Biswas from Gaya district, the officer said.

A team of Tripura Police led by West Agartala Women's Police Station officer-in-charge Shova Telli Friday rushed to Bihar to take back the girl and Biswas.

Police said Biswas is married and has a son.
