Illegal weapons recovered in Ghaziabad


Ghaziabad, Nov 22 (IANS): Illegal weapons have been recovered from an arms manufacturing factory in Ghaziabad, police said.

Police nabbed three people Friday midnight at Maharajpur check post opposite Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. They were travelling in a hired three-wheeler auto.

They revealed during an interrogation that they manufactured weapons on demand. One weapon costs from Rs.3,000 to Rs.5,000. If a buyer wants an automatic weapon, its price goes up to Rs.20,000, police said.

Police recovered 14 pistols of .315 calibre, three .12 bore guns and some semi-finished parts with equipment to manufacture them.

They gave their identities as Mohammad Alam, Mohammad Naseem Sheikh Farooqui and Mohammad Idrish. All are residents of Moradabad town in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
