Modi arrives in Jammu to campaign for BJP

Jammu, Nov 22 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in this Jammu and Kashmir winter capital Saturday morning to campaign for the BJP in the Kishtwar assembly constituency.

After landing at Jammu airport, Modi took off in a helicopter for Kishtwar town, where around 30,000 people have turned out to attend a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election rally.

Kishtwar goes to polls Nov 25 in the first phase of the five-phased assembly polls in the state.

In its pro-active thrust to win the maximum number of seats in the Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP depends largely on the image of Modi, who is very popular among the people in the Hindu majority Jammu region.
