Mangalore, Nov 13: A new Kannada weekly, Kadala Kanmani (The Favourite of the Sea0 was launched in the Town Hall here on Monday afternoon.
The first issue was released by MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, with Karavali Group of Colleges founder-president inaugurating the function, with Kannada Sahitya Parishat's former chairman Harikrishna Punaroor presiding over.
DK district Working Journalists' Union president B Ravindra Shetty, SCDCC bank director T G Rajaram Bhat Kodakkal, entrepreneur and head of Amardeep group Boliyar, Santosh Kumar Rai Kuvettabail and others were present on the occasion.
The periodical aims at providing tasteful reading material aimed at bringing the society together instead of breaking it, says editor-publisher P Vinayakrishna Kurnad. it is being published from Kurnad in Bantwal taluk.
