All schools in Hamirpur have toilets for girls: BJP MP

New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS): BJP MP Anurag Thakur Wednesday said his Hamirpur parliamentary constituency in Himachal Pradesh is the only constituency in the country to have separate toilets for girls in all government schools.

Speaking at a panel discussion organised here by the NGO Save the Children, he said his constituency has a positive sex ratio of 1,017 females per 1,000 males. Union Minority Welfare Minister Najma Heptullah was also present at the meet.

Thakur said people in Hamirpur did not discriminate between boys and girls, a line of thinking that is commendable.
