AIIMS adds 31 new generic medicines for free distribution


New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS): All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) has included 31 new generic medicines in its list for free distributions among patients.

"In addition to earlier list of medicines, 31 new generic medicines have been included for free distribution to the OPD (out-patient department) patients," the hospital administration said in a letter to consultants and doctors.

"All doctors in AIIMS are hearby advised to prescribe the new medicines in addition to the earlier list circulated. It is once again requested to prescribe generic medicines only as far as possible, as per the MCI direction," the letter said.
