Mangalore, Nov 10: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has tightened security at the Bajpe airport here after reports that the Trichi airport authorities had received an anonymous letter threatening attacks on major airports in south India.

The security personnel and other staff at the airport here had been asked to be alert, said M R Vasudeva, director, Mangalore (Bajpe) airport.

He said that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who either had been on leave or taken the day off had been called back for duty.
