New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS): A photograph of Kashmir capturing its picturesque scenery and a beautiful threaded picture of the Valley are two art works that will go under the hammer at an upcoming auction whose proceeds will go to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for flood-affected Kashmir.

The fifth edition of the "Indian Modern and Contemporary Art" auction will be conducted by auction house Bid Art Bull in association with Global Art Hub - an online marketplace for art galleries and art buyers - and will take place in the capital Nov 16 at the Oberoi Hotel.

This year the auction will celebrate the influence of modern and contemporary Indian artists through the 61 works that are up for sale.

Works of masters like M.F Husain, F.N. Souza, Amrita Shergil, Nandalal Bose, Paritosh Sen, Krishen Khanna and Amarnath Sehgal will go under the hammer, along with the creations of modern Indian masters like Jamini Roy, Somenath Hore, Narayan Shridhar Bendre, Ram Kumar, K.H. Ara, H.A. Gade and S.H. Raza.

The highlight of the evening would of course be the two art works whose proceeds would go to the relief fund.

One is photographer Karan Khanna's picture of Kashmir taken in Jan, 2014 and another is a threaded masterpiece that mirrors the landscape of the Valley by artist and designer-duo Rahul and Gunjan, who designed costumes for the film "Haider" - director Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of "Hamlet" that was set in Kashmir. It has been autographed by the film's crew.
