Material engineering and tech expo at Gandhinagar


New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS): An international conference on material engineering and exhibition will be held at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

Recognising the central role of material science and technology in raising the quality of life, American Society for Metals (ASM) International is set to host the international conference on "Emerging Materials & Processes for Industrial Applications" at MET2014 at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

The conference and exhibition is scheduled to take place Dec 4-6, 2014. It is the first-ever exhibition cum conference by Ohio-headquartered ASM in India.

"This event is an important platform for discussing about the various emerging materials and technology that can change the way we live our lives," Pradeep Goyal, chairman, organising committee of MET and Heat Treat Show, said in a statement.

MET & Heat Treatment Show 2014 is planned as an international forum for presentations, discussions and deliberations on the advancement in materials, engineering and processes for industrial applications like transport, defence, building industry and energy.

Almost 300 exhibitors representing various industries from 30 countries are participating in the exhibition to showcase their technology and material engineering development.
