Bank strike affects business in Agra

Agra, Nov 12 (IANS): Business was affected here as public sector banks remained closed Wednesday in response to a nation-wide strike call by the unions for wage revision.

The zonal offices and the branches of all nationalised banks were closed in the Sanjay Place commercial complex.

"People had problems with ATMs too, as money flow was affected," said shoe trader Gopal Kumar.

"How much these bankers want to earn. Already there is a huge gap between their salaries and what an average Indian earns. With computers and ATMs, their work load has also gone down," daily wage earner Arvind Pushkar said.
