Mangaluru, Nov 12: Mahindra and Mahindra Company handed over 2 Arjun International 8085 tractors to Vivek Raj CEO of Panama Corporation in a programme organized at Hotel Gate Way on Tuesday, November 11 here in Mangalore.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vijay Sharma, Vice President (Sales), Farm Division, Mahindra and Mahindra said, “At Mahindra, we believe in offering technologically superior solutions that will deliver Farm Tech Prosperity for the Indian farmer. We are happy to be associated with Panama Corporation who share our vision of enabling farmers to augment their farming activities. We appreciate Panama Corporation’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector by channelizing their efforts towards farm automation.”

Speaking to daijiworld, Vivek Raj who aiming to corporatize the agriculture sector into international standard said "Future generation should come to agriculture. Corporate farming is multi million dollar project. Huge amount of money is being invested into this business.Private equity investors from abroad should come forward."

"We are changing the unorganized sector into organized sector of farming by using best products. We are lending out the land from farmers for 5 to 10 year for Rs 40000 per acre per year. Rent money is one lump sum. And farmers will be working with us and they will get daily wages. This is helpful to farmers as they can pay and clear their loans.

"Farmers are clearing their loans and they also come to join us for work on daily wages. It is giving the stable income to them. They get 350 per day."

When it is asked why has chosen sophisticated tractors, Vivek said "We people run the company, go in air conditioned cars, but my people who are working for me are always under the hot sun. Let them work in comfort. This High-Tech tractors can do what 5 tractors can do. Every 10 acres you need one tractor but this one tractor is sufficient for fifty acres."

Message to future generation:

Vivek: People who got agriculture land should work in it.You can do so many things in your country instead of going abroad.

Are farmers agreeing to provide the land for this investment?

Vivek: Yes. Farmers are agreeing because land is taken for rent, they are allowed to work in their field and wages will be provided to their work from this farmers will get stable income for their life.

Food products directly to consumers:

Vivek: This will reduce the wastage of products and the income will be more stable. Organic farming will also be helpful to increase the yield.

Good initiative , there is huge opportunity in this segment for growth and development of our village specially farmers and their family . we all should encourage and support to make use of our fertile land for producing various quality agro products rather than selling to build construction which is not required at all .
