Islamabad, Nov 11 (IANS): Security forces Tuesday killed at least 24 suspected militants who mounted a brazen attack on a security checkpost in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), a media report said. Four security personnel also died in the firefight.
Officials said the militants attacked the checkpost in the Shirin Dara area of Orakzai Agency, resulting in a clash, Dawn online reported.
Some security personnel were seriously injured in the attack.
Orakzai is one of Pakistan's seven semi-autonomous tribal regions where Pakistani Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked militants are said to have a stronghold.
