Bantwal, Nov 3: Pakrunhi (52), a resident of Karopady near here who had sustained serious injuries in an accident on Saturday October 28 evening, succumbed to the injuries in a private hospital in Mangalore on Thursday November 2.

Pakrunhi was knocked down on the road by a speeding mobike on Saturday evening when he was on his way back home.  The bike driven by Shakir, son of Moidu Kunhi of Mittanadka had hit Pakrunhi after the rider had lost control over the vehicle. 

While Pakrunhi had sustained serious injuries in the accident and was admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore, the bike rider Shakir and pillion rider had escaped with minor injuries.  Both of them are admitted to a hospital at Uppala.

Pakrunhi was serving as postman in Karopady post office for the last 30 years.  He was 6 years away from retirement.

The Vittal police have registered a case in this regard.
