Pakistan Army chief to visit Afghanistan


Islamabad, Nov 6 (IANS): Pakistan Army chief Gen. Raheel Sharif is to visit Afghanistan for a day on Thursday.

Issues related to cross-border terrorism and the draw down of NATO forces will be discussed during Gen. Sharif's meeting with Afghanistan's civilian and military leadership, The News International reported.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Gen. Sharif will meet Afghan President Ahsraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and military leaders.

It is the first visit by the army chief to Afghanistan since the formation of a new government there in September.
