Odisha approves Rs.9,213 crore investment proposals


Bhubanewar, Nov 5 (IANS): The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of the Odisha government Wednesday in-principle gave approval to four industry proposals with an investment of Rs.9,213 crore.

The approval was given in the 49th SLSWCA meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati at the state secretariat here.

The proposal of Emami Cement Ltd, which has proposed to set up a cement grinding unit in Khordha district with an investment of Rs.401 crore, has received in principle approval subject to compliance of environment and forest regulations and pollution control board norms.

The proposals of My Home Industries Ltd., Shree Cement Ltd. and Mahanadi Basin Power Ltd. were also approved in the meeting.

My Home Industries has proposed to set up cement grinding unit in Jajpur district with an investment of Rs.360 crore while Shree Cement Ltd. has proposed to set up three such units in Dhenkanal district.

Mahanadi Basin Power Ltd. has proposed to set up a 2x800 MW coal based thermal power plant in Sundargarh district with an investment of Rs.8,000 crore.

While the companies will invest about Rs.9,213 crore, they will generate direct employment of 1,461 people, the state government said in a statement.
