Trilokpuri riots: Police looking for seven youths

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IANS): Delhi Police have identified seven youths whose acts on Diwali night led to the riots in east Delhi's Trilokpuri.

Earlier, police said that five youths (three Muslims and two Hindu) had thrown stones and pieces of flesh on a "Mata ki Chauki", a makeshift dias for idol's worship, that led to clashes between the two communities in Block 20 in Trilokpuri.

"The two Hindu youths, whose names had surfaced, have not been found to be involved in the act of throwing stones and flesh on Mata ki Chauki," an officer told IANS on the condition of anonymity.

"Seven other youths belonging to the other community were involved in the act but they are absconding," the officer said.

Police imposed prohibitory orders under the section 144 of CrPC, banning any gathering or movement of any group of people, in Trilokpuri, which comprises 36 blocks, after the clashes in which over 60 people were injured.

Sixty-eight people have been arrested for rioting.

Police have been allowing people to move in the area only during day time since Oct 28.
