17 killed in Egypt road accident


Cairo, Nov 5 (IANS/EFE): At least 17 people were killed Wednesday and 18 injured when a school bus collided with a tank truck and a car in Egypt, media reported.

The incident occurred in the northern Egyptian governorate of Beheira, according to the Al-Ahram newspaper website.

The collision resulted in an explosion and a fire that consumed the three vehicles and burned many of the bodies of the victims.

Ambulances rushed the injured to a local hospital while Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ordered a medical evacuation flight to the accident site.
