Mangalore, Nov 1: The police have registered a case of fraud against a person who took a loan of over 7 lacs and failed to repay.

The accused had taken a loan of Rs 7,22,817 from the Sriram finance company at Paradigm Plaza, AB Shetty circle here to buy a lorry. As he could not pay back the instalments, he made fake documents and sold the lorry to another person.

The finance company registered a case with South police station on September 27, following which the police team led by H N Venkatesh Prasanna started investigating the matter. They found the lorry, bearing registration number KA 18 AA 4554, in Bangalore.

Following this, a police team consisting of head constable Chandra and police constable Dinesh Bekal were sent to Bangalore Rural where the lorry was taken in to possession by the Nandagudi police station.

The accused is still absconding.
