Three schoolchildren stabbed in China


Beijing, Oct 31 (IANS): Police in east China's Jiangxi province have launched a manhunt after two schoolchildren were stabbed to death and another sustained serious injuries Friday.

The suspect attacked the children as they walked home from school at 11.45 a.m. at Luojia village in Yiyang county, Shangrao city, Xinhua reported citing a spokesman with the county publicity department.

The suspect fled to the nearby countryside and police are yet to find the weapon.

An eight-year-old boy died on the spot and another child died in hospital.

The injured boy, six years old, has been transferred to a hospital in Shangrao city for treatment.

According to the publicity department, the suspect was released from prison in April.
