Six missing after cargo ship sinks in China


Beijing, Oct 29 (IANS): Six people went missing after a cargo ship sank in the Yangtze river in China Tuesday night, authorities said Wednesday.

The accident happened around 10:20 p.m. in Hubei province when the ship, named Honghai 001, was transporting crushed stones, Xinhua reported citing the municipal government.

Two of the eight crew members aboard the ship were rescued, while a search has been launched for the others.

Authorities are investigating what caused the vessel to sink.
