Sudan supports regional plan to resolve conflict in Libya

Khartoum, Oct 29 (IANS) Sudan Tuesday announced its support for a regional plan within Libya's neighbouring countries to resolve the conflict in Libya.

The two sides, headed respectively by Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and Libya's Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thani Tuesday held joint talks here. They reviewed bilateral ties and agreed to implement the military agreements signed between the two countries, xinhua reported.

Al-Bashir reiterated the importance of bringing the Libyan rivals together towards a comprehensive political solution agreed upon by all parties to achieve peace and stability in Libya, expressing his country's readiness to provide whatever may achieve national reconciliation in Libya.

Al-Thani, for his part, said his country is keen to find a peaceful political solution within Libya as a united country.

Libya's Prime Minister Al-Thani arrived in the Sudanese capital city of Khartoum Monday, starting an official three-day visit.
