Government to give full list of foreign account holders Wednesday

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS): The government will give the names of all Indian account holders in foreign banks to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters here.

This follows the apex court's order Tuesday directing the government to reveal the account holders' names by Wednesday.

"Since the government had already given, on June 27, the entire list to the (apex court appointed) SIT (Special Investigation Team), it has no difficulty in giving it to the court and the entire list will be placed before it tomorrow (Wednesday morning)," Jaitley said.

In an affidavit Monday, the government disclosed the names of three people, including industrialist Pradeep Burman, who have bank accounts in foreign countries and are now under the lens of Income Tax authorities.

Jaitley had earlier said the names would be disclosed as and when the cases are filed in court.
