Six children drown in Bihar


Patna, Oct 28 (IANS): Six children drowned in a pond in Bihar's Saharsa district Tuesday while cleaning its banks for Chhath festival, police said. Two other children are missing.

The incident occurred at the Bharti Nagar pond, said Saharsa Superintendent of Police Pankaj Sinha. The victims were 10 to 13 years of age.

It is common for people to clean the banks of rivers and other water bodies for Chhath. The four-day festival began Monday.
