Morning drizzle cools Agra

Agra, Oct 14 (IANS) An early morning drizzle in the Uttar Pradesh city of Agra Tuesday led to a drop in temperature.

"Dark clouds were seen in Agra since Monday afternoon. After the rainfall Tuesday morning, there was a nip in the air when I went for my morning walk," said K.C. Jain, president of the Agra Development Foundation.

For the Rabi crop, the showers are a god send, said farmer Ravi Singh of Barauli Aheer block.

"Monsoon rainfall has been poor this year, but the current wet spell could help reduce pressure on diesel pumps for irrigation," he added.

Many areas in Firozabad, Mainpuri, Hathras, Mathura and Vrindavan also saw rainfall Monday.
