Kota Oct 16: The mortal remains of Fr Joe M Shenoy was brought to St Joseph's church, Kota from Mangalore at 10 am. The parishioners and well-wishers from various places gathered to pay their final tributes to this loving priest.
The mortal remains were brought in a procession from the main road to the Church where the funeral mass which was participated by the Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore. Bishop Robert Miranda of Gulbarga, along with hundreds of priests, concelebrated.
The Vicar General of Kundapur Varado Fr Anthony Lobo was the main celebrant. The gathering had several nuns from various convents.
Thousands of people gathered to bid a final adieu to Fr Shenoy. Huge screens were installed outside the church in order to facilitate the people standing outside to view funeral ceremony.
A short condolence ceremony was held after the mass. Fr J B Crasta offered a tribute to Fr Shenoy on behalf of the Diocese.
Parish vice-president Valerian Menezes paid homage on behalf of parishioners.
The mortal remains of Fr Shenoy were taken in a procession to the cemetery where it was laid to rest.
Huge crowds witnessed the funeral ceremony from various sections of the society.

A local police also supported the event by facilitating smooth movement of traffic.
