Udupi, Oct 16: A class 9 boy died after being bitten by a poisonous snake at Kurady near Brahmavar here on Saturday evening.

Sharath (14), a resident of Pejamangoor village of Kokkarne near here was student of BMM High School at Kurady. On Saturday evening he had gone to students’ hostel at Kurady to play cricket with his fellow friends and classmates. 

It was during this time that he was bitten by a poisonous snake in the ground.  It is said that he had stepped on the snake while running to fetch cricket ball.  However, he had not informed about this to anyone.  It was late in the night that his health condition worsened.  He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Brahmavar.  But he breathed his last on the way.

Brahmavar police have registered a case on un-natural death in this regard.
