Mangalore, Oct 16: 'Kudlotsava,' the maiden exhibition-cum-sale of products made by Self Help Groups (SHGs) will be organised by the Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust from October 20 to November 30.

Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday October 15, managing trustee M N Rajendra Kumar informed that the state-level Kudlotsava will be held at Karavali Utsav grounds at Mangala Stadium here. About 50 SHGs have already applied to set up stalls, he said. There will also be an amusement park for adults and children.

Various cultural programmes will be showcased by members of the SHGs in the evenings. On the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, special programmes will be held in which achievers from various fields will be conferred with the Shri Karnataka Navodaya Award. Members of the public may also nominate candidates for the award, though the final decision rests with the jury, he added.

The Kudlotsava will be inaugurated by Third Finance Commission chairman A G Kodgi. Apex Bank chairman M N Rajendra Kumar will preside. Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, SP B Dayananda and Apex Bank managing director G V Kongawad will be the guests.

Actress Damini will inaugurate the cultural programmes, Kumar said.

Among those present at the press meet were trust managing director P Narayana Kamath, Kundapur taluk convenor Rajesh K C and all trustees and directors of the Trust.
