Mangalore, Oct 15: Minister for Minority Welfare and Labour Iqbal Ansari on Saturday visited Mangalore and paid a visit to the riot-affected regions.
Speaking to reporters the Minister assured of pressuring the concerned authority strict action against those police officers who misused their powers during the curfew and were involved in harassing the innocent people. Further he also said that a report on his findings would be sent to the Chief Minister and the Home Minister.
Ansari also held discussions with the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police.
Regular meetings between the leaders of various communities, he said would go a long way in ensuring peace in the region.
