Mangalore, Oct 15: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has asked the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to provide compensation to those who suffered losses due to the riots in the district.

The week-long riots which brought businesses to a standstill caused huge losses to the business community of the region. Chamber vice-president Kumble Narasimha Parbhu who  wrote to the CM has said that the curfew had hard-hit the business and thus the government should offer compensation to the business firms.

The Chamber also urged the government to ensure that such incidents do no repeat in the future.
