Kundapur, Oct 14: A fishing vessel capsized killing one at Patimargi shores near Gujjadi here on Friday October 13 morning.

Ratnakar Kharvi (38), a resident of Kanchigodu near Gujjadi here drowned on Friday morning.  He had gone fishing on a small fishing boat when strong winds obstructed.  Though he was not far from the shores, his fishing vessel could not withstand mighty waves for long.  Within few minutes, the boat capsized and Ratnakar was engulfed by the raging sea.

His brother Shankar, who was fishing at a close distance but in a separate boat, rushed the rescue of Ratnakar.  But of no avail, as the later was washed away by the waves.

A case in this regard has been filed in the Gangolli police station.
