Mangalore, Oct 13: An unidentified pedestrian was killed after being knocked down by a milk van at Kallapu near Thokkottu here on Friday October morning.
It is said that the victim was a construction worker. On Friday morning he was walking beside the National Highway 17 when a milk van speeding towards the city from Thokkottu knocked him down at Kallapu.
As a result, he fell on the road and sustained critical injuries and died on the spot owing to excessive blood loss. However, the milk van did not stop on the spot. But the police, who chased the van, seized it near Nanthoor here.
The body of the victim has been kept in morgue at Wenlock Hospital. Ullal police have registered a case in this regard.
