Karkala, Oct 12: The ANF police have arrested two young men who were involved in hunting in the deep forests of Yermal near Shirlalu here in the early hours of Wednesday October 11.

Ravi Poojary (27), a resident of Mudayidbettu and Harish Naik (24) of Hadi Angadi were hunting wild boars in the Yermal forests when ANF police spotted who were on Naxal combing spotted them.  At first the police thought of carrying out encounter under the perception that they were Naxalties.

However, a little commonsense and timely suggestion from police constables averted a danger.  ANF police surrounded the young men and made them to surrender.  The police also seized two country-made guns which were fully loaded.

They are in the police custody and would be produced before the court on Thursday October 12.  A complaint however, has been registered against them in the Karkala rural police station.
