Puttur, Sep 24: Dr Harsha P S an IPS officer of 2004 batch has taken charge of Puttur Sub division as the assistant Superintendent of Police. Harsha took charge on Sep 23 and relieved Mitra Heraje the present incumbent.

Harsha hails from Chitradurga district of Karnataka. He is a medical doctor by education and has completed MBBS from Ambedkar Medical College Bangalore in 2001.
He passed his Civil Services examination in the year 2003 and was selected for the Indian Police Service and allotted to the Karnataka Cadre 2004 Batch.
He has done his basic training from SVPNPA, Hyderabad and district practical training from Gulbarga district. Now after completing the training period, he has been posted to Puttur as ASP.
