Mangalore, Sep 23: The abattoir at Kudroli here which in the midst of thick of controversies has been re-opened on Saturday September 23 as per the orders issued by Pollution Control Board.

The abattoir had been closed after the Pollution Control Board had raised objection that it had been causing pollution in the area.  It had also ordered MCC to make proper arrangements in this regard so that abattoir is re-opened.  Now the MCC has made adequate arrangements and has met the requirements of Pollution Control Board. So the Board has signalled green to abattoir.

The reports said that cattle would be slaughtered after 24 hours of opening the abattoir.  Hence beef will be available in the market on Sunday September 24 onwards.  Abattoir had been closed down temporarily on August 6.
