Mangalore, Sep 22: The Sangh Parivar has warned of dire consequences if Regional Pollution Control Board succumbs to pressure and reopens the abattoir.

Go Samrakshana Samithi Convenor Vinay L Shetty in a press release stated that the re-opening of a slaughterhouse in a residential area is in violation of its own guidelines and Slaughterhouse Act, 2001. He alleged that Rs 10 lakh was collected to be paid as bribe to officials and politicians.

A massive two-wheeler rally in protest against the re-opening of slaughterhouse members has been organised from Urva Marigudi temple on September 25. VHP leader Prof M B Puranik will flag off the rally and State Bajarang Dal convenor Mahendra Kumar will address the protestors in front of KSPCB office.
